Television actor Sumona Chakravarti has returned to social media after staying away for nearly two months. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she revealed that she recently underwent surgery for endometriosis, a condition she has been dealing with for several years.

Sumona shared that the surgery took place on May 4 after her condition became more serious despite years of treatment. She said the past two months have been focused on healing, both physically and emotionally, and she is now feeling much better.

The actor was first diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis in 2021. While she had been trying to manage the condition, doctors eventually advised surgery after it progressed further. She thanked her medical team for supporting her throughout the recovery.

During her break, Sumona stayed away from Instagram and WhatsApp. She admitted that being offline made her realize she no longer wanted to use social media only to chase likes, comments, or followers. Instead, she hopes to create a positive community where people, especially women, can openly discuss health, mental well-being, endometriosis, wellness, travel, books, food, pets, and life choices.

The actress also spoke about the negative side of social media. She revealed that over the years she has received many inappropriate and offensive comments, most of them from men. While she understands that public figures often face such behavior online, she said she will continue acting and focusing on her career without letting the negativity affect her.

Sumona added that she has always preferred to keep her personal life private, and that will not change. However, she decided to talk about her health journey because she hopes her experience might encourage or help others who are dealing with the same condition.

The actress recently celebrated her 38th birthday and shared that she made a last-minute trip to Istanbul. She also reflected on how being away from social media reminded her that love and meaningful relationships cannot be measured by Instagram activity.

One part of her recovery that still affects her is the three visible scars on her abdomen left after surgery. Although she admits they sometimes bother her, she now sees them as symbols of strength and survival rather than something to hide.

Ending her emotional message on a hopeful note, Sumona said growing older is a privilege, not something to fear. She believes every scar tells a story, and she is ready to embrace the next chapter of her life with gratitude, confidence, and a fresh perspective.
